RE: different portals

Now I am having problems with RV.net protal, it takes 30 seconds or longer for a page to load and I am on DSL. That's horrible. My thought is that they are having hardware problems or need to upgrade to better hardware. I have no problems with any other forums site I go to.

RE: Recent Site Issues

This is not fun anymore. Taking over 30 seconds for a page to load on DSL is nuts. It took me over a minute to get to this page good thing I by-passed pages 2-12. Too bad RV.net has been a big part of my life in the past. Hope you all can get it fixed.

RE: Where's my mirror???

Yes I agree with Dawson, there is always transfer of paint even if it is minute. On your mirror check to see if there is paint transfer. Measure the height of where your mirror was and then check around the lot. If you find the culpret take photos of the marks on the vehicle then call LE to check it out. Now if it a a large department they will blow you off but a small department might follow up. The mirror thrown under your rig shows that the O2 waster knew he hit your rig. It could be worse though you could have damage the length of your rig.

RE: What is this thing in my rv?

Looks like a camp fire starter kit. I does not look like it would work for much of anything. Unless you have a small gap between your couch and wall or cabnets then a magazine rack.

RE: Windshield Sun Screen

I was also looking for windshield coverings and was going to get the ones for inside, but then part of my reason was to keep down the interior heat. The ones that go on the outside from my understanding controls heat better. I know what you mean about the snaps.

RE: KWIKEE STEP MOTOR REPLACEMENT SERIES 32-with photos

That is great that you were able to find the motor you needed harrylee. My motor did not have a nylon gear it has a metal one. I know they changed the systems throughout the years. Thanks for adding this information for the thread.

RE: Saf-Tee / Saf-TTE tire monitor

Personally I would not purchase from any company that is connected with the people from Truckers Parts Store. But unfortionately there will be many people outside this forum and even in that will still purchase from them even knowing what has happened. I am satisfied fully with my monitor system from Doran.

RE: Boat Launching with a DP

Like stated above it can be done but being originally from MN I can tell you there are plenty of boat ramps in that state that you would have a hard time pulling down making the turn and then finding room to park with a 40ft DP alone. It all depends on each ramp.

RE: Saf-Tee / Saf-TTE tire monitor

JohnnyT I want to say thank you for keeping this thread open. This thread has helped many people stay up on what's happening with this company and product. While there were a few that received their product there are many more that have not and have cancelled in time. A lot of us have been saved by the credit card company reimbursing the money that we charged on the card. It looks like this company has closed. But everyone should be cautious if another company name starts selling the Saf-tee product. I know there are some that have not received their money....and now some with warranty issues.
But if it weren't for this thread and Forum there would be many more who would have lost money on this. Thanks again for staying with it and allowing it to stay open.

SGTJoe that was good information.

If you don't believe this information go and check it out yourselves. It's public information. Now an agent is just someone that is down that will recieve papers served on the company. So my guess is an attorney or maybe not. The important thing is the formation date of AVVSP

RE: Let your brakes cool down..but for how long? Tragic

Its some real "flat ground" in that area aint it!!! I came thru the Bighorns on the maiden voyage with my CC....in 4th gear...Pac Brake on and running a little less that 40....back brakes SMOKING. I do everything I can now to route myself AROUND that area on my westward trips now..even to get to Cody Wy. Not only do I make BETTER time...the ride is more comfortable and I dont have those L..O..N..G 6 and 7% grades to contend with
If I had a "Jake Brake" I MIGHT be inclined to try the steep ones again...But I dont..so I wont.
Hey Sully2...
Have ya seen the new runaway ramp they put eastbound... on the right side going down from the west? I've never in my life seen anything like it...you gotta go through a series of spring loaded gates it seems and hope you're stopped at the end of the runway, cuz I don't think there's too many places to go after that. DW was a little nervous and didn't get any pics when we went by it, so I'm not sure of what I saw except for all those gates. There is no uphill like the one on the other side of the road and that one is a little dangerous since you have to cross over to use it. There's stories of people parking and even dry camping there all night...yep, believe it or not.
I saw those on our way down in July, it kinda made me think how in the heck would that stop a large truck. It then stuck in my mind why not aircraft carrier cables and a large hook on my coach. I know that is a long decent there coming into Buffalo.

RE: Let your brakes cool down..but for how long? Tragic

Let me throw another scenario at you. Suppose your in front of this guy and see this happening (before he is going 50 mph faster than you). Do you get in front, hopefully slow him down, wreck both rigs, and probably save their lives?
By the time you find out he is having problems he would already be going too fast. Remember your in second gear or first using your engine to brake your rig. By the time you got up to speed to safely match his so you are not pushed out of the roadway he would be past you. And this is a stunt that has many different factors to pull off. In my training I know how much force it takes to put a car into the ditch and it is very little to make it break traction. :E

RE: New DipStick Hole Plug On MD3060???

I have put it that plug in and here is what I did I first made sure that the entire area was clean from any dirt or debris around the plug area this will help with keeping any dirt from falling in once you pull out the old plug. After you have done that loosen the bolt on top of the old plug it works alot like a boat plug if tightened it squeezes the rubber center and thus seals the hole. It worked fine for mine for 10 years.
Then you pull out the old plug you might need to twist it a bit but it should come out easily.
Next clean the inside of the dipstick hole with a clean rag.
Put the rubber sleeve over the plastic plug and insert it into the hole just push it in by hand you should not have to tap it with anything. I did not use lube on it. It has not leaked since and that has been 6,000 miles. It's nice not to have that thing leaking and leaving a coating of fluid for dirt to grab onto. Hope this helps

RE: Saf-Tee / Saf-TTE tire monitor

Did things just get better or worse?
At this juncture, I am not sure what we do with this thread...Since the vendor's storefront. www.truckerspartstore.com seems to have gone away replaced by http://www.rollrightnow.com/ And the product appears to have been re branded.
I don't think the product has been the issue.. Although we do not have a lot of feedback on its performance and none on its long term reliability.
What we have had reported was order fulfillment problems, communication issues, and a quagmire relative to refunds. A person claiming to be the manufacturer indicating communication problems and settlement issues.
Now there is a different name, different website, but I am not too sure how different... The contact name and telephone Number is the same for both this new web site and and the old one. This new web site was created on 25 July 2008 and updated Aug 3 2008.
This new outlet which claims to be now selling the previously branded SAF-TTE Tire Pressure monitoring is now referring to the TPMS as the Roll Rights Tire Pressure/ Tire Temperature Monitoring Systems.
The questions I have:
Is there anyone who has paid for but not received either a refund or the Saf-TTE TPMS aka Roll Rights Tire Pressure/ Tire Temperature Monitoring System?
For those that have the Saf=TTE TPMS any notion on how you would get warranty coverage?
Has anyone contacted the apparent manufacturer Gobiz ?
Or the exporter Gobiz Exporter ?
JohnnyT Moderator
JohnnyT
I had contact with Aileen Li from Gobiz the manufacturer. She told me that since they were unable to contact Saf-tte They were sending a manager to the USA to try to speak in person with Saf-tte. That they have not paid them $50,000. The name change would help them get around the credit card service providers.
One other thing did you see the Circle of Trust Rv link at the bottom of Roll Right Now.....got to be kidding me.

3M Super 77 spray adhesive or the Hi strength 3M 90 adhesive would work. Use sparingly.

http://www.rollrightnow.com/index.html
It appears that SAF-TTE is now selling through Roll Right Now LLC (and the price has gone up). Interesting though; they have three different units including a hand held reader.
I just don't understand how after reading all this in this thread there are some still ordering through them. I am going to bite my lip and not type what I really think. And stay away from hypothetical theories which won't be allowed.

RE: Motorhome Magazine

Jim,
I bet several of us who have older coaches would be interested in any issues that featured our coach in an article. I know I would.
You may find some interest for the older ones on ebay. Otherwise, I would send them to the recycler and let them live life again in another format!
Yes I would love to see an article on 96 Destiny
